Hendersonville Arts Council Affiliate Organizations
Besides its own activities, the Arts Council assists affiliate organizations in
realizing their goals and projects. To contact any of these organizations, please call the
Arts Council at the number below.
- Artist Guild –
Guild members have varied art disciplines which include sculpture, painting, woodworking,
pen and ink, pottery and bead weaving. The guild meets March through October at 7:00 PM on
the fourth Tuesday of the month at Monthaven.
- Creative Photography Club
- Hendersonville Community Singers
– An organization of talented individuals committed to bringing classical choral
music to the Hendersonville area. Their repertoire includes great masterworks, as well as
music by contemporary composers. The Singers meet every Monday night, September through
May, at Bluegrass Baptist Church. They hold performances in winter and spring.
- Lakeshore Quilters Guild
– The Quilters meet the second Monday of each month at the First Methodist Church in
Hendersonville.
- Sumner County Youth Orchestra
– The orchestra was founded in 1987 for students, ages 8 to 18, to be educated in
classical music. They have performed with the Nashville Symphony and other professional
entities.
- Middle Tennessee Fiber Guild
– The guild’s mission is to promote and teach fiber arts in the Middle Tennessee
area. Members’ skills include weaving, natural dyeing, knitting, feltmaking, basketry
and rug hooking. Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 2:00 at
Monthaven.
- National League of American Pen
Women – The League is made up of professional women writers, artists
and composers. The league meets the second Thursday of every other month at Monthaven.
- Tsuru Friendship Committee
– The committee promotes events with the Hendersonville sister city of Tsuru, Japan,
including trips to Japan. They meet monthly at Bluegrass Baptist Church.
